Work starts on UK’s largest Biomass plant
Today marks the start of building work on what will be the UK’s largest Biomass plant.
E.ON UK’s Chief Executive Dr Paul Golby said:
As the station will burn willow alongside forestry residue it’s particularly apt that we’ll be planting a willow tree on site.
But, above all, this is about E.ON investing in a project that both reduces carbon emissions and that also offers local farmers a new market in renewable fuel crops.
The scheme has received an £18m grant from the Big Lottery Fund’s Bio-Energy Capital Grants Scheme.
