Wind Power uptake faster than expected

Wind Power is on track to provide 5% of Britain’s electricity by 2010, an impressive half of the governmental target to generate at least 10% from renewable sources.

The British Wind Energy Association (BWEA) has just released Onshore Wind: Powering Ahead, a report claiming to be the most comprehensive assessment of the UK’s onshore wind sector ever undertaken.
They expect a total capacity of about 6 Gigawatts to be built by the end of the decade.
