Sir Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin group, has pledged all of the next 10 years of profits from his transport companies to fight global warming.

“We must rapidly wean ourselves off our dependence on coal and fossil fuels,” said Sir Richard.
The funds, expected to total roughly US$3bn (€2.36bn) will be invested in companies developing new renewable energy technologies, both run by companies and external businesses.
