UK Carbon Emissions Still Rising
Carbon emissions have risen in the UK for the third consecutive year.
The rise is relatively small, roughly ¼%, and overall GHG emissions have stayed level. This is depressing news for environmental groups who have berated the government, in particular the prime minister: “Whilst Tony Blair continues to make fine speeches about climate change he continues to fail to put his own house in order.”
The WWF wants Government to use the EU ETS to provide incentives to the power sector to adopt low-carbon technologies.
