Prices for carbon emission allowances pushed through the €30 barrier yesterday, driven no doubt by rising oil prices, and realisation of the shortfall between emissions and caps. PointCarbon’s composite market price was €30.40 per tonne for December 2006 allowances. Even the Financial Times saw fit to report this today, on page 2.
