Large companies ask for stricter regulation
The Financial Times reports that large companies would prefer stricter emissions policies implemented with certainty than looser policies with uncertainty or non-uniformity n their application.
“But while some business lobbies have resisted international action on climate change for precisely these reasons, a growing number of high-profile companies are calling for stiffer regulation of carbon dioxide.
These businesses are seeking greater regulatory certainty for future investment decisions, a level playing field for their industry internationally and, in the long term, to help stave off the worst effects of climate change.”
