Kyoto 2

Tony Blair has said that he will push for a successor to the Kyoto Protocol when it expires at the end of 2012.

Speaking while in Auckland, the Prime Minister has also said that the replacement must include the US, China and India, despite the recent slight relaxation of the UK’s own emissions targets.

This comes along with appeals for a green-revolution from both industry and Joe Public.
Fortunately, he is pledging £80m over the next three years for microgeneration projects and tighter building regulations.

Meanwhile, Downing Street has revealed the carbon dioxide emissions from the prime minister’s aeroplane will be offset by making an investment in energy-saving technology in the developing world.
