Global warming seems ever more inevitable
Recent studies are inclined to suggest that global warming is happening at a faster rate than ever previously stipulated. According to an article in the Guardian, the polar caps are melting much faster than had been calculated. The carbon cycle, summarised by how CO2 is swapped between the air, land and seas has been proved to lack the absorption rate previously guessed out that half of our emissions were being absorbed. As new studies suggest that land and oceans are losing their absorption ability, our targets for reducing emissions would have to be far more severe to avoid catastrophe. With all the delays in action already, where can we find hope for the future of the planet?
