Code of conduct for the UK offset industry

defra1.gifAccording to a report in the Guardian, the UK Government is planning to introduce a voluntary code of conduct for companies in the carbon offsets industry. It seems the main objective will be limit the scope for fly-by-night offset operators and projects, taking the money of investors and offsetters without ensuring projects are around in the long term.

We will post more details when the Government publishes its draft consultation document, expected this week.
