Climate Change ‘to boost food bugs’

Professor Paul Hunter of The University of East Anglia has warned that warm weather [will] ‘boost food bugs’.
He predicts that cultural changes brought on by rising global temperatures, such as an increase in people having barbeques, will increase the risks of various diseases - in particular those found in food. He also warns that peripheral water supplies will be more prone to infection by cryptosporidium, which causes digestive problems, due to increased run-off from farms.

These are just some of the less obvious impacts of climate change, there are likely many more, and potentially more serious, to be discovered.

But perhaps they should never be discovered - if we take this last opportunity to reduce our impact on the planet then we could avoid ever knowing how bad it could be.

Reducing emissions is about more than just preventing pollution, it has long-term effects that we don’t even know about.

A BBC report, Climate culprit for frog deaths, shows another unexpected effect of climate change.
No doubt that this is one of the lesser effects, but it does show that damage is already being done.
