Australia has just voted by a landslide to change its Government, and the new Prime Minster, Kevin Rudd, has promised his first official action will be to sign the nation up to the Kyoto Treaty on climate change. Expect to see Australia once again providing global leadership on environmental issues, now that the morally-deplorable, head-in-the-sand attitude of the former Government is over.
