Camp for Climate Action - The fight against Aviation

Campaigners for cleaner skies are demonstrating and spreading awareness at a camp that is being set up at Heathrow airport - on the proposed third runway that is set to be built as part of a general airport expansion programme.

It is opened tomorrow (Tuesday 14th August) for a week long, with the intention of attracting thousands of like-minded people to attend the temporary “ecovillage” hosting 100 workshops aimed to allow others to “experience sustainable living in action, and build a lasting community of resistance to airport expansion and climate change.”

Camper Sam Thompson said: ‘Everyone’s desperate to know what will happen
on the day of action. What we do know is that one of the key aims of the
camp, and the day of action, is to confront the aviation industry that is
driving airport expansion – which is criminal in a time of climate crisis.’
