The FT reports further arguments for and against California’s new cap-and-trade law on carbon emissions. Personally, I think this will spur innovation, and put the state at the forefront of energy-reduction and alternative-generation technologies and of the emissions marketplace. Eventually, the USA will elect a President whose administration will support the same climate-change-mitigation policies, and Californian companies will then be ahead of the game. All credit to Governor Arnie for realizing this.
