According to the Financial Times, the UK Meteorological Office predicts that, for the Northen Hemisphere, 2005 is likely to be hottest on record. If so, “the 10 warmest years on record will all have occurred within the last 11 years.”

A BBC article states that it was the hottest year on record for the Northern Hemisphere.
