A Solution to Global Warming
Miracle process revealed! Or so it seems as yet. It is proven that adding calcium hydroxide (lime) to seawater causes it to absorb far more CO2 from the atmosphere than usual. Scientists have announced that the feasibility of extracting the necessary lime from limestone does not have to be counter-beneficial and as costly as previously thought.
A man named Tim Kruger has been developing the idea further for over a year with the help of chemical engineering Professor Dr George Manos (University College London) and funding by Shell’s GameChanger programme.
They have concluded that the lime production process creates only about half as much carbon dioxide as is absorbed from the atmosphere when the lime is added to seawater, and predict that we could revert the levels of CO2 to pre-industrial levels using this process.
By their organisation Cquestrate, they are hoping to develop the project in an open source way, aimed at bringing together people who can help bring the theory to practice quickly. Check out their website launched yesterday www.cquestrate.com. It provides videos to explain the how’s and aims of the project and attempts to measures all the possible implications.
