Gazprom to trade carbon

The FT reported this week that Russian energy giant Gazprom has announced plans to enter the carbon emissions market in a joint venture with Dresdner Kleinwort.

CO2 emissions still increasing

The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) first released and then withdrew December 2006 data regarding carbon dioxide emissions.  According to this Guardian report, even the data which has been officially published shows that CO2 emissions are still increasing.

UBS: Prices to fall further

British supermarket chain, Marks and Spencer, announced plans yesterday to spend GBP 200 million (300 million euros) to become carbon-neutral by 2012.
