A Storm at Sea

Our greenhouse gas emissions may be causing fiercer hurricanes and storms, according to recent climate modeling research, reported by the BBC.
Scientists calculate that two-thirds of the recent rise in sea temperatures, thought to fuel hurricanes, is down to anthropogenic emissions.

Shell International (London) is looking for an Environmental Products Originator to develop Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Joint Implementation (JI) Projects.  Application deadline is 2006-09-20. 
It says something of the nature of the emissions reduction business that the job requirements include:
“Fluency in Chinese, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese or Russian is essential.”

Super Methane Brothers

As the Earth warms under the effects of climate change, the effects seem to accelerate. The BBC reports that:
“Thawing Siberian bogs are releasing more of the greenhouse gas methane than previously believed, according to new scientific research.
