UK to auction permits?

The UK Government is considering auctions of emissions allocations in the second phase of the emissions trading scheme (2008-2012), according to today’s FT.  The rules of the ETS permit national Governments to auction up to 10% of their national emissions quota.

Quarterly reporting?

The World Bank has called for quarterly reporting of emissions in order to reduce volatility in carbon emissions trading prices, according to this report in today’s Financial Times.

Carbon Dioxide Price Rises

The price of Carbon Credits is about to close at a slight increase on yesterday.
Although CO2 did reach around €12.75 this afternoon, it’s currently standing at €11.96, a single Euro up. (about 10%)
