Chancellor Gordon Brown presented his 10th budget yesterday, announcing several green-friendly policies, including:

Proposal to the World Bank for a US$20 billion fund to help developing countries deploy renewable energy pojects.

Sequestering CO2 underwater

The Guardian today reports that Shell and Norwegian oil company Statoil are planning to bury greenhouse gases beneath the North Sea in offshore oil fields. It is planned to sequester up to 2.5m tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.
